1/5/2024 0 Comments Evernote vs inkdrop![]() What makes me keep searching around is due to my frustration with their executions (Frequent annoying bugs that hinder productivity or even usability, bad rollout that victimizes some users, bad beta community management) which makes the premium price seems less worthy (Why should I go through so much pains for a product when I'm already paying while some alternatives provide so much for free, making the incremental values from paying a lot lesser). However, I think the fact that some of us keep trying to leave should be a worrying sign to Evernote management team because that means there might be low loyalty among its users and we might switch whenever a good alternative comes up that suit our individual needs. ![]() I don't like OneNote's web clipping and the endless canvas design as it makes reading on phone difficult I tried Notion but its lack of offline mode and slow mobile app turned me away Nimbus Note was the closest alternative that I almost switched entirely to until I come across issues with their Search (different platforms returned different results which bothers me a lot because I need to be able to get my info quickly when I'm on the go so it needs to be reliable). Love the detailed elaborations here! I'm in similar situation where I have left a few times over last 2 years exploring other tools but always come back. I'm loving the new "Home" feature, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves in the future. I am likely heading back to another year of premium when my sub is up in August. It's like carrying around a multitool that works perfectly instead a toolbox full of tools that all specialize in a few things, so it makes life easier and lessens my load. I also don't really need backlinks, and toggling between markdown and preview mode is a bit tedious, though I know they have a WYSIWYG editor in the pipeline.Įvernote is the only one where I think "oh, I want to save that" and within 5 seconds it's done and saved where I'd expect and how I expect. I know you can change this behaviour but the "link" between a note and where the attachments are stored - I can see this getting out of hand quickly. Amazing app but I'm not sure it handles screenshots and images well, relegating all files to a single folder. Notion works well but not for document or file storage, especially if I have to download a file and reupload it, each time I make changes. The OneDrive scanner clips pages with the corners cut off at the top or bottom and if you want a filter applied there's no way to apply it to a batch of scans - you have to select it one by one. ![]() It automatically clips the entire page with sharp corners and brightens the text. OneNote annotation is laughable.Īlso, scanning documents via phone - Scannable is the clear winner. OneNote is fine but it doesn't really fit my workflow, and I use EN quite a lot to annotate images. Sure you can export the page to PDF but what if I only need a portion of the page? And saving the URL isn't that great because what happens in a year when the page goes offline or moves? I realize YMMV on this however, so if you were a user who's still seeing a lot of missing features I understand why you're not happy.įor me though, EN offers a single place to store everything related to note taking and reference documents.Īpple Notes is really good, but it doesn't have a web clipper that actually "clips". Since then they've slowly built things back up and most of the features I use are back. V10 was definitely slow when it first came out, and a lot of features were missing. I've "left" Evernote a few times over the past 2 years but I always come back.
